My name is Natalie, and I'm the owner of Angus Oliver Luxury Sheepskins and Angus Oliver Cowhides. My passion lies in sharing the comfort and beauty of sheepskin rugs and cowhides with you. I live in Alberta, Canada, and I know what you might be thinking: Alberta is known for its oil production, big trucks, and beef cattle, so why sheepskins and cowhides?

Many years ago, I actually raised Romney and Babydoll Southdown sheep, along with a few alpacas, right here in Alberta. Finding a veterinarian with experience in those animals proved to be quite the adventure! However, I soon realized that farming wasn't quite for me; I found myself deeply affected whenever a sheep passed away, even from natural causes.

My journey took an unexpected turn when my son was diagnosed with autism, and I was diagnosed with severe PTSD a number of years ago. I discovered that the tactile sensation of sheepskin and cowhide rugs had a remarkably grounding effect. I genuinely believe they play a significant role in reducing anxiety and panic attacks, offering a sense of calm and stability.

All of the sheepskins and cowhides in my shop are valuable by-products of the meat industry, and none of the animals were raised solely for their hides. My goal is to promote a deeper appreciation for these incredible creatures by utilizing their hides as rugs, seat covers, or clothing, helping to minimize waste and honor their contribution.
